How much scrap leather will I get?

How many pieces of leather are in each scrap box depends on the weight/thickness of the leather and how heavy the box is. Below are just examples of typical yields for scrap leather boxes. Every box is unique and contains pieces of many varying shapes, sizes, and usability.

• Light Weight (2.5-7.5oz) – Approx. 5 sq ft per pound
• Mixed Weight (2.5-12oz) – Approx. 3-3.5 sq ft per pound
• Heavy Weight (8-12oz) - Approx. 2.5 sq ft per pound

Is scrap leather a deal?

Yes! Our scrap leather boxes are made up of the same quality leathers we sell as full sides, just marked down because of the odd shapes of the pieces. Pricing is based on a set price per pound, then discounted based on leather weight. Boxes of heavier weight leather have the highest discount because they yield less square footage per pound than lighter weight leather.
