About the Brand

Danesh leather design is located in a small workshop in rural Slovenia. It all started in 2018, when Ohad Danesh became ill with a life threatening autoimmune disorder. He became handicapped and had to reduce working hours to a minimum, which pushed him to seek an occupation that could put his life back together. As his hands suffered the most from the disease, he decided to pick a craft that required a lot of hand work to prevent further deterioration to his wrists and fingers. Leather was in his mind since being a toddler as his father was a great fan of 'everything leather' and even worked at a tannery back in the 70’s. Until now, his first childhood memories are intertwined with the smell of leather.

Daneshs' goal is to educate and share knowledge among the worldwide leather crafting community.

His Instagram page is where he communicates with thousands of makers that seek advice on techniques, pattern design, and leather craft in general. Over the years, he has noticed a real need of creative and innovative pattern design, so he shifted his attention to the digital creation of leather goods patterns for every day use, such as bags, wallets, home wear, and more. In addition, he also creates free educative guidebooks and tutorials to keep helping beginners just starting out in leather craft. Daneshs' designs have different styles, from 40’s retro bags to contemporary and innovative pieces. He is largely inspired by great makers from East Asia and Western Europe, which are a leading force in the world of leather design.
